Pastor Jerry Bellis moved to Camden Point in November of 2004 from Dear Trail, Colorado to lead the congregation as their senior pastor. He was born in Brush, Colorado in 1974 and raised in a small farming and ranching community in Northeastern Colorado working on his grandparents' farm and ranch. From a young age he enjoyed animals and the outdoors.
Christ revealed Himself to Jerry in 1985 during Vacation Baptist School. For the most part, Vacation Bible School was the only time his parents took him to church events, but it was here that Pastor Jerry began to trust Jesus as savior.
After High School Pastor Jerry attended college in Garden City, Kansas where he obtained an Associates of Applied Science in Diesel Technology. After graduation, he moved to Cheyenne Wells, Colorado where he took a job with a John Deere Dealership as a diesel technician. It was during this time that Lord touched his life in a wonderful way.
After quite some time of disobedience and pursing his own desires, Christ, through a w inter revival, called Jerry to the ministry. He was so filled with joy and the Spirit that he immediately began preparing sermons. Only two weeks after surrendering to the call he preached for the first time (if you can call it that). Every since that day Pastor Jerry has enjoyed boldly proclaiming the Word of God.
Pastor Jerry married Christy shortly after graduating from Garden City Community College. They have now been married for ten years and have two wonderful boys. Other than his relationship with Christ, Pastor Jerry's family is his greatest blessing.
Among Pastor Jerry's enjoyments in life are his family, preaching, camping, fishing, reading, and spending time with friends. He also enjoys studying the Word of God as he continues his education at Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Kansas City, Missouri.
